Beauty in black… a world-renowned nail clipper brand
SUWADA BLACKSMITH WORKS Inc.

Founded in 1926. They manufacture kuikiris, end-cutting pliers that are used to trim metal wire, gourd-shaped nail clippers and scissors for Bonsai. Their newly designed nail clippers have recently received numerous awards in Japan and abroad. Their beautiful factory welcomes visitors to come and observe their work processes. During the festival, they will hold backyard tours (Experience 1) and workshops on Mini bonsai making workshop (Experience 2).

Backyard tour
Capacity: 5 persons per workshop

What to do: Back yard tour by SUWADA artisan.
The craftsmen themselves will guide you around the factory. The tour includes a souvenir.
What to do: An artisan will give you a guided tour of the inside of the factory that is usually closed to the public. Change into a SUWADA uniform, and you can observe the work of the artisans up close. Instead of watching through the window, you can enjoy the real sense of being there.

"Create a mini bonsai with SUWADA bonsai scissors"
Capacity: 10 persons per workshops
Fee: 3,000 yen
What to do: This project, which was very popular at last year's SUWADA BONSAI WEEK!!, has returned at the factory festival!
It is a course where you can choose your favorite pot and bonsai, and, using SUWADA bonsai shears, can experience taking the bonsai from potting all the way to completion.
You can take your completed "mini bonsai" home with you!
