Metal boards that protect houses from wind and rain
ISHIGUROBANKIN KOGYOSHO

Founded in 1890. This company creates pots and pans using copper plates, in addition to specializing in the metal re-thatching of Buddhist shrine roofs. Their own first generation master assisted with the rethatching of the gate of Untou-An Shrine in Minami-Uonuma. Since the early 1900’s, a time when tin iron was imported and zinc plate become a popular material, the company has worked to create metal plates for residential use. During the festival, they will hold workshops where visitors can make dustpa out of corrugated galvanised iron.
