Since their foundation in 1947, they have strived to make cutlery that exceeds the quality of the famous German cutlery manufacturing area, Solingen. The company was founded by Kosuke Iwasaki, a respected authority on metallurgy who has conducted scientific research on Japanese edged tools, especially swords. In addition to western-style razors, their Japanese razors, small knives and pointed knives are renowned in various parts of the world for their sharpness. In 2014, Ryoichi Mizuochi was acknowledged as a Master of Traditional Crafts by the Japanese government.
